SpotHopper Alternatives in 2026: The Platforms That Publish a Price

SpotHopper's own FAQ asks what it costs and answers without a number. Here is what is actually documented, plus the alternatives that publish pricing: Popmenu from $179, Owner.com from $249, and Dinevate's set $499 onboarding. Verified September 1, 2026.

Key takeaways

  • SpotHopper publishes no pricing. Its sitemap lists 31 URLs with no pricing page, and its own FAQ asks "How much does SpotHopper cost?" then answers without a dollar figure.
  • The only citable SpotHopper prices are in dated BBB complaints: roughly $500 a month on a 12-month contract in one, $437.64 monthly charges in another. Individual accounts, not a rate card.
  • Among the alternatives, Popmenu publishes $179 to $499 a month and Owner.com publishes $249 or $499 a month, both with no long-term contracts. BentoBox now announces "BentoBox is now Clover" and no longer takes new standalone signups.
  • Dinevate is a set $499 one-time onboarding, then one ongoing arrangement quoted per restaurant, with no contracts.
  • Every live-page claim here was checked on September 1, 2026; our own hands-on tests are from August 2026.

Most pages ranking for "SpotHopper alternatives" are auto-generated software directories that have never checked a price or a contract. This one is built from vendor pages, dated complaint records, and our own testing.

What SpotHopper sells, as of today

SpotHopper's site (now at spothopperapp.com) positions it as an AI marketing platform: website building, AI-written social posts, review generation to rank higher on Google, email and text blasts, automated promotions for slow periods, catering and event inquiry tools, and analytics. The only calls to action are "Book a Free Demo."

That description has drifted. Our August 2026 audit for the comparison page recorded professional photography, a named onboarding specialist, and an events module with e-signature contracts in the pitch. None of that appears on the current pages, and neither does online ordering. The one live ordering flow we completed (one restaurant, August 2026) put every customization into a single free-text "special instructions" field and ended with payment collected at the restaurant on pickup. One flow, not a platform-wide finding, but it is the only one we could test.

To be fair: if you want one vendor executing all of your marketing (posts written, blasts sent, reviews chased), that breadth is a real reason SpotHopper gets bought. The trouble starts when you ask what it costs.

The pricing, documented by its absence

SpotHopper's /pricing URL resolves to a landing page with no figures. The FAQ answers its own cost question with a description of flexible plans, no dollar amount attached. The terms of service page publishes no contract length, no auto-renewal provision, and no termination terms.

The numbers that do exist are in third-party records. SpotHopper Inc's BBB profile (West Allis, WI) shows a B+ rating, no BBB accreditation, and 9 complaints across 13 years in business. The dated complaints carry actual figures: a complaint filed with BBB on June 22, 2026 states "We signed a 12-month contract with SpotHopper on Oct 27, 2025, paying ~$500/month." One dated April 15, 2026 lists three monthly charges of $437.64 each. One from March 11, 2026 describes a renewal the customer believed was month-to-month that locked in another year at $250 a month.

Those are individual accounts, not SpotHopper's rate card. They are, however, consistent with what we recorded in August 2026: operators report roughly $200 to $400+ per month, typically on annual agreements.

One more data point, in SpotHopper's own words: its FAQ asks why 99% of customers stay with the platform year after year. Read next to complaints describing 12-month terms and disputed renewals, retention and commitment are worth separating before you sign.

Three things to get in writing from any replacement

Owners searching for alternatives usually want what SpotHopper does not put on a page.

A published price. If a vendor will not print a number before the demo, the number depends on the demo. Two of the platforms below publish full pricing; hold the others to it.

Content that can actually rank on your domain. In August 2026 we examined SpotHopper customer sitemaps: they ran 5, 8 and 9 URLs in total, and SpotHopper's entire public SEO help category was one article, covering page titles and meta descriptions. Whatever vendor you pick, ask to see a current customer's sitemap and count the pages that could rank.

A commitment you can exit. SpotHopper publishes no contract terms anywhere official. So ask every vendor the same three questions in writing: how long is the term, what triggers renewal, and what does leaving cost.

The alternatives, with the numbers that exist

Popmenu publishes three plans: Starter at $179 a month ($159 prepaid annually), Essentials at $299 ($269 annually), and Premier at $499 ($449 annually), with setup included, no contracts, cancel anytime. Essentials includes 500 text messages a month, Premier 5,000. If the lowest published entry price for a website-plus-marketing bundle is your priority, Starter is it; our line-by-line is here.

BentoBox should come off your shortlist unless you are shopping for a POS. Its site now announces "BentoBox is now Clover" and directs new customers to Clover, with no pricing displayed. Most alternative lists still recommend it as a standalone product. It is not one anymore.

Owner.com publishes two plans: Flexible at $249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee per order, and Flat Rate at $499 a month with no additional restaurant fees. Both carry a 5% order support fee paid by the guest, disclosed on the pricing page, and both are month-to-month with no long-term contracts. The branded app is included in both plans; the break-even between them sits near $5,000 a month in online sales. If month-to-month terms matter most and the guest-side fee suits you, Owner is a credible pick; the full math is in our Owner.com alternative guide.

Dinevate prices the same job with a different shape. Onboarding is $499, one time, a set price, covering your website, online ordering, the branded mobile app, loyalty, local SEO content on your own domain, email marketing, and the Order Manager tablet (loaned, Dinevate property). After launch there is one ongoing arrangement quoted per restaurant: a per-order service fee or a flat monthly, with no contract and no cancellation penalty. Something always recurs; we say so up front. Reservations, voice AI phone answering, catering, social media, and delivery are separate add-ons with their own pricing; if you want a number for any of them, ask and we will give one. One honest caveat: the social posting breadth SpotHopper leads with lives in our Social Media Pro add-on, not in the base $499.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SpotHopper cost per month? There is no published number, so treat any quote as negotiable. Before you sign, ask for the monthly figure, the term length, and the renewal trigger in one email, and keep the reply. Treat any verbal quote as provisional until it shows up there.

Does SpotHopper require a contract? Nothing official says either way; the terms of service are silent on length, renewal, and exit. Assume a term exists until a rep denies one in an email you can keep, and ask what the renewal date is and what happens when it arrives, before it arrives.

Does SpotHopper do online ordering? Its current public pages do not mention it. The one live flow we tested (August 2026) used a single free-text field for customization, with payment collected at pickup. Place a real order at a current customer before you rely on it.
