Menufy Alternatives in 2026: What It Costs Now, and Who Does It Better

Menufy now costs $149/month on an annual agreement or $179 month-to-month, with no per-order commission and no published processing rate. Here is who that model fits, the sourceable reasons owners move on, and the alternatives with published prices, verified September 1, 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Menufy's current price is $149/month on an annual agreement or $179/month month-to-month, cancel anytime with no penalty. Identical features on both plans, and the pricing page says "No per-order commissions."
  • The old free-to-restaurant model is gone from the public pricing page, which now shows only paid subscriptions.
  • Two numbers are missing from that page: the card processing rate and the guest-side convenience fee. Get both in writing before you sign.
  • The alternatives that put a price on the page: ChowNow from $229/month plus setup and processing, Slice at $39/month plus $3.00 per order for pizzerias, Square Online from $0 monthly, Dinevate at $499 one time. GloriaFood is discontinued.

Menufy built its name as the free option: the restaurant paid nothing, the diner paid a small fee at checkout. That is not the product being sold today, and most articles ranking for "Menufy alternatives" have not caught up. Here is the current model, and where else the same money can go. Every vendor number below comes from the vendor's own pages, checked on September 1, 2026; anything we measured ourselves is marked as our August audit.

What Menufy costs now

Menufy, owned by HungerRush since October 2021 and branded "Menufy by HungerRush" on its homepage, sells one package at two billing rhythms: $149/month on a 12-month agreement, or $179/month with no commitment. The annual plan includes "Free equipment," unitemized on the page; our August audit recorded it as a tablet and a printer.

The package is broader than an ordering page. The homepage sells "a custom website for your restaurant that ranks on Google, has pro marketing, online ordering, and a 24/7 Success Team," and both plans list Google ordering integration, email and text campaigns, loyalty, AI review tools, and a dedicated Success Manager. No tiers, no feature gates. For a subscription product, that simplicity is rare.

What you will not find on the pricing page: a card processing rate, or what the guest pays. Menufy's help center describes a customer-paid "online convenience fee" the restaurant can absorb or waive above a minimum order, and an older help article from the free era describes it as charged "in addition to the standard 2.75% + $0.30 credit card transaction fee." No live Menufy page states the current amount. The subscription is published; the per-order economics are not.

Who Menufy genuinely fits

One predictable monthly bill covering a website, ordering, and marketing automation, with no per-order commission to the restaurant and a leave-anytime monthly plan, is a fair, clearly stated deal. If your menu is simple and you want a full package at a low fixed cost, Menufy may be all you need.

Why owners look elsewhere

Owner-side review volume on Menufy is thin everywhere, so we will not claim a widespread exodus. Here is what the record actually supports.

The model changed. Restaurants that signed up for free-plus-diner-fee are now looking at a $1,788 to $2,148 annual subscription. The help center still asks "Is my restaurant's Menufy website really free?"; the pricing page answers no.

The math is incomplete. With no processing rate and no guest fee published, you cannot compute your all-in cost, or your guest's.

Diner problems land on your brand. BBB records 13 complaints in three years, mostly diner-side: delivery failures (Menufy has no drivers of its own), an order accepted for a closed restaurant, refund refusals. BBB also shows a 1.33/5 average across 12 reviews, including one restaurant partner who says Menufy "still charged me for services a month later" after cancellation. Twelve reviews is a tiny sample; treat these as anecdotes. But when a diner's order goes wrong, they blame the restaurant.

The ordering experience is dated. On the two live Menufy ordering sites we clicked through in August, the menu rendered as one continuous page (a 15-category menu measured 8,767 pixels tall), neither site had a search field, and tapping any item first opened a "Pick an Order Type" interstitial. Saving a card requires a Facebook or Google login. And Menufy's own directory on order.menufy.com lists your competitors next to you: its Kansas City pizza page names 22 pizzerias.

The alternatives, published prices only

PlatformPublished priceWhat that number leaves out
Menufy$149/mo annual or $179/mo month-to-monthProcessing rate and guest fee not published
ChowNow$229, $319, or $409/mo annual ($249, $349, or $449 monthly)Setup $119 to $499; 2.95% + $0.29 processing; $99/year Apple developer fee
Slice"$39/month plus $3.00/order (credit card orders only)"Processing 2.90% + $0.30 (August 2026 audit); checkout on slicelife.com
Square Online$0 monthly on the free planOnline processing 3.3% + $0.30 on Free, 2.9% + $0.30 on paid tiers
GloriaFoodDiscontinued, closed to new signupsService ends March 31, 2027
Dinevate$499 one-time onboardingOne ongoing arrangement, quoted per restaurant

ChowNow puts every number on its pricing page, which we respect: three plans at $229, $319, and $409 a month on annual billing, setup at $119 to $499, processing at 2.95% + $0.29, and marketing contact caps of 500, 2,000, and 5,000 by tier. It costs more than Menufy at every tier. Full breakdown in our ChowNow alternative guide.

Slice is the pizzeria specialist, and its product page says it plainly: "You just pay $39/month plus $3.00/order (credit card orders only)." That is the cheapest sticker price here for a pizza shop. The tradeoff we recorded in August: card processing of 2.90% + $0.30 on top, and checkout sends your guest off your domain to slicelife.com under Slice's terms.

Square Online is the right answer if you already run Square payments and want $0 fixed cost. You pay only processing: 3.3% + $0.30 online on the free plan, 2.9% + $0.30 on paid tiers (when we checked in August, the plan ladder ran $0, $49, and $149 per location). The free tier puts your site on a Square subdomain, and the two live Square restaurant sites we checked were missing the basic page markup Google reads, which makes it harder for the site to show up when someone searches your restaurant's name plus your dish. Two sites is a small sample, but both had the same gap.

GloriaFood used to be the free option people reached for. It is discontinued: gloriafood.com states it "has been discontinued and is no longer accepting new signups," and service ends March 31, 2027. If you are on it, you need a migration plan, not a comparison. Start with our GloriaFood alternative guide.

Dinevate prices the job differently: $499 one time to build everything, covering the website, online ordering, the branded mobile app, loyalty, local SEO content on your own domain, email marketing, and the Order Manager tablet (loaned, still Dinevate property). After launch there is one recurring cost, a per-order service fee or a flat monthly, quoted per restaurant because it depends on order volume, with no contract and no cancellation penalty. There is no version of this with zero ongoing cost. Reservations, Voice AI, catering, and delivery are separate add-ons with their own prices; the details are in the Dinevate vs Menufy comparison.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Menufy cost per month? $149/month on a 12-month agreement or $179/month with no commitment, per its pricing page. Both plans are the same product; the only real decision is whether the free tablet and printer are worth the 12-month commitment.

What is the best Menufy alternative for a pizzeria? On sticker price alone, Slice at $39/month plus $3.00 per credit card order, with the tradeoff that checkout happens on slicelife.com. For ordering on your own domain with pizza depth, see the Dinevate vs Menufy comparison.

If you want your exact number instead of "quoted per restaurant," that is what a demo is for.
